Robbie Williams : Outstanding Contribution Award @ Brit Awards 2010

Robbie Williams triumphantly picked up the 'Outstanding Contribution to Music' Award at the 30th BRITs Ceremony.

He joins a host of legendary artists to have received this award, including David Bowie,Tom Jones,Paul Weller,The Pet Shop Boys and U2,to name just a few.

Robbie Williams,who has won more BRITs than any other artist,was awared with the coveted trophy at The BRIT Awards 2010 on Tuesday 16 February

After being awarded the honour, the singer performed a medley of songs, including 'Let Me Entertain You', 'Millennium' and 'Angels'.


During the performance Williams made numerous mentions of the award, changing the lyrics to several of his songs.

"Thank you so, so much for this award," Williams said towards the end of 'Angels'.


He ended his performance with a version of solo hit 'Rock DJ', and a rendition of Take That's 'Everything Changes', though the reunited.

Robbie, the most decorated singer at the Brits, gave a slick performance to celebrate his 16th Brit Award after previously winning 11 gongs as a solo artist and four with Take That.
Williams, 36, who wore a sharp black suit, appeared overwhelmed by his achievement, jokingly singing into his statue before telling the crowd: ''I feel really good up here Brits, thank you so much, have a great evening. " He later added: ''Thank you so much for this award. God bless you, thank you.''
With a career spanning twenty chart topping years, Robbie Williams made his first appearance as a member of Take That. As a solo artist Robbie’s career went stratospheric selling more albums in the UK than any other British artist and holding the astounding record of winning more BRIT Awards than any other artist. He carved out a successful run of number one hit songs including ‘Angels’, ‘She’s The One’, ‘Rock DJ’ and ‘Something Stupid’ and amassed over 55 million album sales worldwide while his stadium tours saw 1.6 million tickets being sold in a single day.

He was awarded his first BRIT in 1999 for Best British Male Artist and went on to consecutively win more categories for another five years running. In 2005 he performed his biggest hit ‘Angels’ live on stage alongside songstress Joss Stone and at an earlier BRITs, 1998, he dueted with one of his heroes Tom Jones.

He has won no less than 11 BRIT awards and received an amazing 31 nominations (22 as a solo artist).
